Itinerary for Ouzoud Excursion From Marrakech
Here is the complete itinerary of the one day excursion to Ouzoud falls from Marrakech:
Day 1: Journey from Marrakesh to Ouzoud
We start our day trip from Marrakech in the morning with a hotel or riad pickup. As we leave the city, the road goes through open countryside and olive farms. It’s a comfortable drive that gives a glimpse of Morocco’s rural life.
The route takes us north through olive-producing regions and small Berber villages, where locals still farm the land using traditional methods. After about three hours on the road, we arrive at the village of Ouzoud.
You can take a short walk through the village or join a local guide. Small shops and cafes are available on the trail leading toward the Ouzoud Waterfalls. It’s over 100 meters high and is the tallest waterfall in North Africa.
We follow the trail down to the base of the falls, stopping at viewpoints along the way. You may spot Barbary macaques in the nearby trees. For a closer look, there’s an optional short boat ride to the base of the falls, which is a great spot for photos.
After the walk, we stop for lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the cascades. You can enjoy classic Moroccan dishes like tagine, couscous, and fresh salad served with mint tea.
In the afternoon, we begin the drive back to Marrakech, following the same route through the countryside. You’ll arrive at your accommodation by early evening, marking the end of your day trip to Ouzoud.
