Itinerary for Ouzoud Excursion From Marrakech

Here is the complete itinerary of the one day excursion to Ouzoud falls from Marrakech:

Day 1: Journey from Marrakesh to Ouzoud

We start our day trip from Marrakech in the morning with a hotel or riad pickup. As we leave the city, the road goes through open countryside and olive farms. It’s a comfortable drive that gives a glimpse of Morocco’s rural life.

The route takes us north through olive-producing regions and small Berber villages, where locals still farm the land using traditional methods. After about three hours on the road, we arrive at the village of Ouzoud.

You can take a short walk through the village or join a local guide. Small shops and cafes are available on the trail leading toward the Ouzoud Waterfalls. It’s over 100 meters high and is the tallest waterfall in North Africa.

We follow the trail down to the base of the falls, stopping at viewpoints along the way. You may spot Barbary macaques in the nearby trees. For a closer look, there’s an optional short boat ride to the base of the falls, which is a great spot for photos.

After the walk, we stop for lunch at a local restaurant overlooking the cascades. You can enjoy classic Moroccan dishes like tagine, couscous, and fresh salad served with mint tea.

In the afternoon, we begin the drive back to Marrakech, following the same route through the countryside. You’ll arrive at your accommodation by early evening, marking the end of your day trip to Ouzoud.

We just returned from our 8 day private tour of Morocco starting in Casablanca, then Rabat, Fes, Merzouga/Sahara Desert, Dades Valley and Marrakech. Morocco is a beautiful country and I wish we had more time. Our driver Mohammad was the best! Always punctual, he was kind, patient and friendly. We had local guides in Fez and Marrakech. It was an ambitious itinerary given our time constraints and involved a lot of driving. In the end, though exhausted, I am glad we got to see it all!. FUN!

We just returned from our 10 day private tour of Morocco and couldn’t be happier with the experience. We were able to visit Casablanca, Rabat, Fes, Merzouga/Sahara Desert, Dades Valley and Marrakech with many beautiful stops in between. We are so happy we chose to book through this tour company! Said was wonderful and very responsive throughout the booking process. We cannot thank our guide/driver Younes enough! He was very knowledgeable and professional, helping us navigate this new, beautiful culture and making us feel completely at ease throughout our trip. He was an integral part of making our experience truly unforgettable! Highly recommend!!
