3 Nights Camel Trekking in Merzouga

Overview

The 3 nights Camel trekking in Merzouga Sahara desert is an opportunity to spend enough time in the middle of the Morocco desert with local guides, who will take good care of you, prepare delicious food while enjoying music drums, sandboarding, visit nomad families, and experience the nomad lifestyle.

If we are lucky and the weather is clear we can enjoy a starry night. During the first night, and after a good dinner, light a fire. In the morning we will take a good breakfast we will travel almost 2 hours to reach our next destination. We will stop and a half hour for lunch under the shade of a Tamariz, a typical desert tree. After lunch, we will continue our way to owning a Touareg family where we spend the night and interact with them.

The next morning, have breakfast with the family and then we will move to another small oasis located in the desert where the next camp is inhabited by a nomadic Berber family. There is below and after breakfast, return to the village or hostel. On this 3 nights desert tour assumes an average of 90 minutes to two hours or walk in single file, or camel ride every day.

Merzouga Camel Trek » Sunset » SandBoarding » Night in a Desert Camp

We provide private tents with mattresses and blankets, mineral water, full board during desert excursion, and camel rides during the camel trek tour.

We start around 16h00 in the afternoon and the camel guide will take you to our camp which is in the middle of The dunes and at the top of the high dune, you will stop to take a picture of a sunset.

When you get to the camp you will get first your own private tent (at your preferred tent type)and you will have dinner in a Berber tent After a wonderful dinner, we will build a campfire and play drums and sing the songs of the Berber, Toureg and southern Moroccans.

On the second day of our 3 nights camel trekking in Merzouga, after having breakfast we will have around 1-hour camel ride to reach our next destination; a small oasis with palms trees where we will have lunch and spend all the day, climbing the high dune to do sandboarding, and to see the sunset from the high dune in Erg Chebbi.

After sunset, we come back to our camp to spend our second night, with delicious dinner and music, and a short walk to see the stars.

In the morning, after having breakfast we will have around 2 hours to reach our next destination. We will stop for lunch next to a desert tree ‘Tamarist’ for about 1 1/2 hrs. In the shadow of this tree, we will have our lunch.

After lunch, we head towards the home of a Touareg family with whom you will spend your third night and share some time.

The next day after having our breakfast with the Touaregs we head towards another small oasis which is in the middle of the desert. Before reaching the camp we stop on the way for lunch. Your 3rd night will be spent with a Berber nomad family living at this particular oasis. During dinner we will have a fantastic drum party.

After breakfast, we travel back to the village or to the camp. Each day will involve between 90 minutes to 2 hours of either riding a camel or walking alongside one.

On the last day, we take you back to the village after having your breakfast. Either by camels or by a 4×4 as an alternative option.

1- Transport From Marrakech to Merzouga desert:

The bus (Supratours) departs from Marrakech to Merzouga daily at 8.00 morning and arrives in Merzouga around 21:00.

2- Transport From Fes to Merzouga desert:

The bus (Supratours) departs from Fes to Merzouga daily at 19.00 night and arrives in Merzouga around 06:00.

You won’t need a sleeping bag at our Merzouga Camel ride for both options (Standard & Superior), you’ll be staying at the desert camp provides all the bedding you need including real beds, pillows, and enough blankets.

Yes, for those who want to spend the night in the Sahara but they don’t like to go on Camels, we offer a transfer from and to the desert camp by our 4WD as an alternative to Camels without any extra charge of course.

Yes, no worries during your Merzouga Camel trekking at our desert Camps we use solar panels, and of course, there is a place where you can charge your phone and camera.

In general daytime temperatures in Morocco are often quite warm. you’ll need comfortable, loose, cool clothing. Evenings are often cool, especially in winter, bring a jacket or lightweight cover-up.

Desert temperatures fluctuate from cold at night to very hot in the day, but you will need to be covered to prevent sunburn.

Bring sunglasses and head covering and Sunscreen. Bring comfortable shoes for walking and Sandboarding, sport sneakers for example. To confirm the 3 nights Camel Trekking in Merzouga, we require a small deposit to be paid over PayPal, Wise, or bank transfer to our account, the balance is payable in cash at the pick-up, to be paid to your driver in euros, or equal in dollars or dirhams.

Is it possible to pay the entire with PayPal?

Usually, we request the balance payments in cash because PayPal also has many transaction fees and operational delays since it’s a world institution.

We will in some cases accept the complete payment via Paypal however a 5% fee is going to be applied to hide the additional transaction charges. just in case you’re considering this method, it’s best to rearrange the payment before the tour.

– To pay the full amount by Wise or bank transfer there will be a 2% extra to cover the transaction fee.
