The Itinerary For the 3 Days Tour From Fes to Marrakech

The complete itinerary for the 3 days tour from Fes to Marrakech:

Day 1: Journey from Fes to Merzouga

We start the 3-day desert tour from Fes to Marrakech and head towards the Middle Atlas region. Our first break is in Azrou, where you can briefly explore the cedar forest and spot Barbary apes with luck.

From here, the road leads to Midelt, a quiet mountain town known for its orchards and open views. It’s a simple place, but a good midpoint along the route.

We continue through the Tizi Ntalghamt Pass and follow the road toward the Ziz Valley. The landscape features long lines of palm groves along the river, and we stop here for lunch.

After the break, we drive through the towns of Erfoud and Rissani, both known for fossils and local markets. The scenery becomes drier as we get closer to Merzouga.

By mid-afternoon, we reach Merzouga. You’ll meet your camel here and begin the ride into the Erg Chebbi dunes. The route is calm and gives you plenty of time to enjoy the surroundings before reaching a viewpoint for the sunset.

After sunset, we arrive at the desert camp. Traditional dinner will be served, and you’ll spend the night in a comfortable private tent.

Day 2: From Merzouga to Dades Gorges

The morning begins early to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes. After that, we return to Merzouga by camel or 4×4, freshen up, and have breakfast before starting the drive.

We leave Merzouga and pass the oasis of Tinghir, a Berber town known for its palm groves and colorful houses. It’s a calm stop that gives a quick look at everyday life in the region.

The road continues toward the Todra Gorge, where the flat landscape turns into tall cliffs and a narrow passage. You’ll have time here to walk by the river, explore the shaded paths, or take a few photos of the rock walls rising above 300 m.

We’ll continue on the way towards the Dades Valley. By evening, we reach your riad or hotel, where you’ll have dinner and rest for the night.

Day 3: From Dades Gorges to Marrakech

In the morning, we leave Dades Valley and follow the road through the Valley of the Roses, a region known for its rose fields and small villages.

The drive continues to Ouarzazate, where we stop to visit the Kasbah of Taourirt. The site offers a look at the old architecture of an area that has been featured in several well-known films.

Next stop, Ait Benhaddou, a UNESCO-listed ksar built from traditional mud-brick structures. You can walk and explore the pathways at your own pace.

Our journey then crosses the Tizi n’Tichka Pass, a mountain route with wide views of the High Atlas. There are a few spots along the way to take short breaks or photos.

By the evening, we arrive in the city. This is where the Fes to Marrakech desert tour ends, and you’ll be dropped off at your accommodation.
